Welcome

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins… We love because he first loved us.

DID YOU KNOW THAT JESUS...

Did you know that Jesus claims to rule you, love you, forgive you and offer you eternal life? These are immense ‘turn-your-life-upside-down’ claims!
But as dramatic as they are, these claims received incredible support when Jesus rose from the dead. These are claims that cannot be ignored.

We’d love to help you dig deeper into Jesus’ claims about you.

FOR EVERYTHING ELSE

This is where we run our Life Series, Youth Group, Women's Growth Group, Rush Kids, Training and much more...

We hold four church meetings every Sunday. Each have their own personality, and yet they all share similarities that make them part of one church. We simply open the Bible, we hear and pray about real lives, we sing and spend time actually getting to know one another.

Who are we?

In Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

We’re a church. We’re not a building or a denomination or a religion, but a real community of people who help one another give thanks to God and get to know Him better through the Bible.

We come from all walks of life, many nationalities and different backgrounds. But, we share a common hope in the forgiveness Jesus offers, a common desire to love as God loves, and a common prayer that God might use us to save thousands of people for Jesus in Newcastle and the Hunter.

Maybe you've never listened to a sermon before, or maybe you're just keen to get an idea what you'll hear at HBC?
Why not start with these two...

Got Kids?

The chief priests said to Him, ‘Do You hear what these children are saying?’ Jesus told them, ‘Yes. Have you never read, “Lord, from the lips of children and infants you have called forth your praise”?’
—Matthew 21:16

The great news of Jesus’ eternal life is hope for people of all ages.

We love helping parents teach their kids about Jesus’ love. That’s why we try to run great programs for kids as part of our Sunday church services, through weekly youth groups and Bible studies, and even in school holidays with kids’ clubs.

We take child safety seriously, making sure all our staff and volunteers have had legal checks and Safe Ministry Training.

The Connect Series

We’d love to help you get settled into our church family.

If you’re a Christian, Jesus not only calls you into fellowship with his Father, but also into fellowship with other Christians. The New Testament speaks of Christians as people who are part of a local body of Christians with leaders who have oversight and responsibility.

We want to be upfront with you about what we’re like as a church, what drives us and where we pray God is taking us. The Connect Series is an opportunity to get to know other new people, meet some of our pastors and hear what we’re passionate about as a church. Over five relaxed sessions, we look at what God really wants for our lives. We see how these shape the way we live in the world and the way we do church together.

The Connect Series runs at the Hunter Bible Church ‘Hub’ (14 Heddon Rd, Broadmeadow). If you are interested in coming, please contact us.

GROWTH GROUPS

GGs.jpg

Growth Groups are weekly small groups where members of HBC dig into the Bible, pray and care for each other under the leadership of mature Christians. Being a committed member of a Growth Group is the best way to be cared for and to care for others as well. For many people at HBC, being a part of a Growth Group is one of the best experiences in their Christian life.

Our groups run for a year at a time—sometimes continuing the following year and sometimes changing depending on things like growth, leader transitions and new opportunities.

If you've just started coming to HBC, the best way into a Growth Group is by joining one that is going along to The Connect Series.

Check out our Growth Groups info sheet here.
