And we’re not just uni students! We have loads of high-school students, TAFE students, workers, graduates, and post-graduate students of all ages. New people come each week to check out church with us. All welcome!

When you come along on a Sunday you can expect to hear engaging talks from the Bible that clearly explain both what it means and how it impacts the way we think, feel and live.

It’s Newcastle! Dress casual like you would at the shops. Talk like you would at home. We really want you to forget about what other people think and simply engage with God’s word in the Bible.

There is ample parking at the Callaghan campus of University of Newcastle.

You can make use of the free parking on a Sunday night using the parking lot opposite the CT Building.

As you drive in on Ring Rd you will see signs letting you know you’re in the right place.

As you walk into the venue, there will be a few friendly faces outside who will say hello and let you know you’re in the right place!

There’s usually time to grab a tea or coffee or some light refreshments before the meeting starts.

When the meeting starts, feel free to sit anywhere you feel comfortable in the lecture theatre. There is no assigned seating.

During the meeting each week, we typically open the Bible, hear a 25-35 minute talk, pray, sing songs about Jesus, and hear stories from people of how Jesus has changed their lives.

If you don’t have a bible to read along, that’s completely fine! Feel free to just listen, or you can follow along using an online Bible (like this one!)

Our meetings usually go for a bit over an hour. At the end of the meeting we’ll enjoy some tea and coffee and snacks together.

We’d love for you to stick around and meet some people. People will usually hang around and chat with each other for a little while after the meeting.

We’re an independent evangelical church. ‘Evangelical’ just means we take the Bible seriously, we believe it’s the word of God, and we’re committed to teaching it faithfully each and every week.

The simple answer is that we’re all about Jesus here at Hunter Bible Church. The Jesus revealed to us in the pages of God’s written Word; the Bible.

Yes! Our AllNations community is a community for students from at least 25 nations around the world to meet around the Bible and live for Jesus. They know exactly what it is like to move to Australia for study and work.

We have food, fun and friendship, and welcome any English level… but there will often be someone who can communicate in your heart language. We can help with transport too!

Yes! If you live on campus and want to connect with other Christian students, join our Colleges community to grow in your love of Jesus alongside others living where you are.

Yes, of course you can! We have people from many different denominational backgrounds who call our church home.

We love the Bible’s message about Jesus, and we want to help you engage with it!

Yes, please come! Watch and hear what we believe and teach about Jesus Christ in our weekly meetings.

There’s no pressure to join in any parts of the service that you don’t feel comfortable with — you won’t stand out because there are always others having a look just like you.

Whenever we have a meal together there will always be a vegetarian/halal option.

Yes there are train and bus options! You can make use of Warabrook train station right on the edge of Callaghan campus, and the Mathematics Building Bus Stop is situated right outside CT Theatre where we meet.
